I hope all of you have plenty planned with family and friends, and will take the time to look around and truly appreciate all you have been blessed with this year.
As the year comes to an end, we are working toward testing our 1 rep maxes here at Strength Camp Acworth... and gearing up to set the bar even higher next year.
Which got me thinking about progress, and how to push yourself so that you see progress and achieve your goals.
You see, progress in strength and fitness is not measured in huge leaps and bounds, it is measured in the small successes each and every day as you strive and struggle for more.
Think about what we spoke about a few short days ago about percentages...
" Approximate percentages of 1RM versus other rep maxes are listed below, however, know this will vary with regards to the exercise and the individual:
1RM – 100%
3RM – 90%
5RM – 85%
10RM – 75-80%"
But all of those percentages mean ZERO if you don't ever push yourself to move MORE WEIGHT!
If you go in every day, pick the weight you know you can do comfortably, do your sets, and leave... you WILL NOT grow stronger!
You WILL NOT progress.
BUT - You don't have to add a 25 pound plate to the bar for improvement. Even the smallest weight consistently added over time leads to great gains.... It doesn't have to but HUGE weight, just ADD WEIGHT. Your 50% should not be the same cycle after cycle... the same goes for 70, 80, 90, even 100%
So next time in the gym, PUSH YOURSELF.
Only then will you GROW STRONGER.
BECOME THE STRONGEST VERSION OF YOURSELF!
